Stocking
I am about a third of the way through my stocking and I am still enjoying it. Has anyone else noticed or am I just being fanciful. But when stitching yesterday I decided to stitch the eyes on one of the kittens as I had got to their position. Wow the picture has just popped when I look at it. It is not just another piece of embroidery - the kitten seems to be alive. Either that or I need a lot more sleep than I am getting at the moment with DH's chemo treatment.

Deirdre - you aren't crazy. A couple years ago I was working on a cover all of a wolf and it was endless stitching - on and on and on etc. when I finally got to the eyes and all of a sudden it was a wolf and not just stitching. I named him "Rufus" as we became friends while I finished stitching him. It is amazing what eyes will do to a picture. I am working on a pattern "Songbirds" by Stoney Creek and I think there are 12 or 13 birds that I am putting beads in for eyes as I go and it really brings it to life. Hope your husband is doing well. Take care of yourself because if the caregiver - you - goes down it is hard to find someone else to step in.

if you feel fanciful then i join your club. On a fluke, ok it was an accident,i did the face first and WOW -i found a new friend. So if possible, i always start with the face -on purpose now. The eyes are the window to the soul.

I am now over halfway through this and I am still enjoying it. I am thinking of getting it framed instead of making it into a stocking what do you all think of that idea - silly or what?? It's just that my sewing skills are not great and I would hate to ruin it .

Didn't we discuss this on another thread? When you first started it? :)

No it wasn't me. I think it was another stitcher who was also thinking of framing her stocking.
