Background
Is the background of this piece stitched or was it completed on a darker fabric than that listed in the suggested materials needed.

Hello,
That whole background is stitched. This pattern is what we call a "cover all" so that means that the piece of fabric you use to stitch the design will be completely covered up with stitches from the design :) You can certainly use a different color fabric and not stitch the background though. Completely up to you :) Hope this helps!
