It says it is on linen, I thought counted cross stitch was aida cloth

This is a pattern and you may do it on any kind of fabric you choose, whether it be aida or linen or burlap. "Counted" refers to the type of pattern it is, not the type of fabric. The other type of pattern is a "stamped" pattern which is inked directly on the fabric. I hope this explanation makes sense to you! :)

This sampler says it is cross stitch which is not the same as counted cross stitch. It says it is done on linen and most counted cross stitch comes on aida cloth. Please advise as I am interested in this sampler. If it can be done as counted cross stitch, what cound aida cloth. Please get back to me.

Unless the description says STAMPED it will be a counted project. Is you don't want to stitch on 32 count linen you can switch to 16 count aida which will be the same size. Patterns come with "suggested supply list" The stitcher can make any changes he or she chooses..

STAMPED projects used to be called embroidery; somehow people started calling it "cross stitch" which confuses a lot of people. Counted cross stitch makes it easier to make changes like colors or size of finished projects. This chat is a great place to get opinions from other stitchers. Just remember you will be getting opinions here. If you have questions regarding a specific product you should contact Customer Service directly.
