Fire dept. Emblem
It says full stitches only. Will someone please explain this to me? I really want to make this but I am a newbie to counted cross stitch and only know how to make X's and half X's.
Thanks so much.

Hey, you are on the right track. A full stitch is just that-what you call your Xs-that means you won't have any half Xs. I really like the design. Do you have any connection to fire fighting? Anyhow, that looks like it will be fun especially with red.

Perfect project for a newbie. Not too large. Not a lot of color changes. No half stitches, which I, personally, avoid.

How is the stitching going? I hope that you grow to love cross stitch and get addicted to it. The person who taught me years ago had no idea the pleasure (minus having to rip out stitches) that she gave me. When I said that I did not think I could do it, she asked me if I could count=duh, yeah and there was no going back. Happy Stitching.

As you stitch along - or when completed, we would love to see a pic of your work. Good luck and enjoy.
