Frameing
Where do you guys get your work framed? How expensive? I saw a very good video on you tube but I know these diy videos aren't as easy as they look.

I get my framing done at Micheals here in Nebraska. I haven't framed one in a while so I am not sure on the cost. I maybe partial though because I used to work there.

Anything 11 x 14 and under I frame myself. Any of my larger projects I take to Hobby Lobby to have framed. They do a great job. Costs vary by the size and what you want with your framing.

I am very lucky to have a local framer here in northwestern Pennsylvania who is absolutely the best. He has framed every cross stitch picture I have done for 18 years or more and I have never had a complaint. I am a great believer in shop local.

We do not have anyone that frames in this town. We are a very, very small town. If I don't frame it myself, I have to drive into Texas=Paris, TX and go to Hobby Lobby. They do fairly good .

I first look in stores, especially Kohls, when they have their pictures and frames on sale. Sometimes they will have some deep enough to use. Otherwise, I always use American Frame, which is on-line. Their prices are so much cheaper than Michael's or Hobby Lobby, even with their coupons. They have tons of frame styles to choose from and send you the pieces to fit your picture. Simple, very professional, and excellent prices when you compare to the craft stores. A free mat (of your choice) is included with each frame. You can even order samples of frames and mat colors for a small price. I highly recommend them!

It's not until I hear what you all go through to get things for your cross stitch habit (such as framing) I realise how lucky I am. I have a VERY god lady who frames all of mine at a good price and does a fantastic job.

I frame all the smaller ones...like 8"x10". I took one large one to Michaels, but my old friend framer, whose privately owned frame store closed after 25+ years, worked at Michaels. He could not give me any sort of break. It cost $137 for just a plain black frame, no glass. There is a smaller frame shop in town and he swaers he can beat even Michaels sale prices. Hope to test that out with another BAP!
