Yes this kit includes the thread. Dimensions Inc. Kits are very good. I have had several although I don't usually buy kits. Their kits include everything you will need to do the project. They don't use DMC thread, but you can get a conversion chart if you want to know the DMC numbers to use the pattern for another time. Hope this helps.
