Old cross-stitch pattern
I am looking for an old counted cross-stitch pattern of a wide brim garden hat in the mist of flowers. I am not sure how old this pattern is....maybe in the 1980s. I also am not sure of the company who put it out. My mother-in-law started the project in the 80s and did not finish it. She has now passed away and I would love to complete it. I have looked everywhere I can think of and cannot find the pattern she was using. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the pattern have a name? Is it in a magazine? Was it a leaflet? I am asking these questions because I have mags and leaflets from the 80's. Could you post a picture of it? I would be happy to help but I am not quite sure where to look. Let me know if you have anything you could add.

Stoney Creek has a pattern with a garden hat and flowers all around. There is a bird on top of the hat - does your photo have a bird?

Look for Paula Vaughn ( Leisure Arts). She was very popular in the 80's. Many of her designs have quilt themes, but she also had several floral straw hat ones as well.

Here is a pic of the half-finished project. I do not have a pic of the finished design nor do I know the name of the designer or title of piece. Thanks for all the help.

I am happy for you. Your mother-in-law would be tinkled pink because every stitch was made with her love and with your stitches intertwined with hers you are continuing that love through family generations.
