Ooops I Did It Again
Hi All,

After a relocation to be with family, I decided to order this new cross-stitch called Serenity, even though I have three in process already, and to check back in with you all. Hoping everybody’s doing okay.

Wishing everyone a Blessed Easter, Happy Passover and a wonderful Spring. And of course, Happy Stitching!

Fondly, Bluejay

That is going to be absolutely beautiful when you finish it.

Thank you I think so too. The colors are what attracted me to it to begin with and the natural setting embodies the word Serenity I think!

Please keep us posted with pictures in progress. I really love this one as well - the name does say it all!

Will do! It’s still at the warehouse and being assembled. It’s a pattern, canvas and floss. Should be arriving here by Thursday it says, so I will let you know.

Then I will have to prep it of course but that first few stitches is Heaven on Earth to me. It is the very image of Serenity, isn’t it?

Hoping everyone had a wonderful day today however you spent it. ❤️

I see this pattern is a Mystic. I have a Thomas Kincaide that is very close to this picture that is in my stash - this is making me want to start it . But, I have 3 in progress now.

Hi Marge,

These are very similar to Kinkades, which is why I was drawn to them to begin with.

The truth is that I also have three others going too, and have more in my stash, AND am saving my pennies for yet another!

I don’t doubt that many other stitchers feel and do likewise. We are not alone in this!

Happy Stitching! 😊

Guilty of having to many WIP's and just plan patterns to do...lol It is such an addiction and I know I may never get them done unless I can just retire now at 43 and cross stitch all day without that pesky job or house work getting in the way...lol

Hi Nettie,

It’s a lovely thought but without the job and without the money it brings, many things go with it. Including the ability to buy luxuries like cross-stitch kits, and even for some the luxuries like food and shelter.

For so many of us it’s a case of time and no money, or money and no time. It’s not that easy to cross-stitch in a homeless shelter. Believe me, I know.

Everything in moderation. I think if we all had the luxury of cross-stitching all the time, we’d soon tire of it. I could be wrong though.

If you have a second, please post what you’re working on now. That goes for everyone reading as well.

Or maybe we could all start a group thread called “Work In Progress” and everyone post there so we could search for it easily and it would always go to the top. And if it got too long, we could always just start a new one. What do you all think?

Happy Stitching!

Bluejay, Yes it is a lovely thought but you are correct I do like eating, and having creature comforts, and I do know I would get bored with it quick as my attention span isn't very long, about 30 seconds( I exaggerate but not by much) if I am not into something by then I move on, how I get any cross stitch done is beyond me. I have 3 WIP's right now. My large one is called My Favorite Toy in honor of my cat Maddie, she is a pain in the *** but I love her and the pattern looks almost identical to her. I have a medium one called Cozy Kittens and a small one called Family Circle. Hmmm, I sense a theme going on here of animals...lol I just bought Beach Ladies which will take the place of the Family Circle when it gets done. I have three days off a week so you would think I would get more cross stitch done but it just seems those weekends go by so fast and the next thing I know it is Monday and I may have gotten a couple of hours of cross stitch in. It also doesn't help that I have to divide my time between two houses in the winter since our country one is to far away from town for safe winter driving all the time and I am a big chicken...lol

Hi Nettie,

I do sense an animal theme going on there. 😊. I think many of us get bored easily and like to switch up, unless we have some sort of a deadline or really want to get a project done.

For me, my favorites are scenic ones, but I do others if they strike my fancy. I’d love to do one of my friend’s orange cat, but it entails getting a picture sent off to get a chart made and I just never seem to get that motivated.

I think I’ve posted a picture of this recently, Teddy’s Alphabet Train, for my grandson but I’ve made progress since. I can’t do it when he’s home in the evenings because the one and only time he’s seen it, he wanted to make off with it, and then he wanted to wipe his little mouth on it! He’s not yet three.

Like cross-stitch I always have three or four books on my bedside table, going at the same time for much the same reason. 😊

I will have to post the picture later, it says it’s too large. I will try to trim it down.
