Bird brain.
Once again we have a robin who is knocking on the window by the kitchen sink. He started yesterday, and only stopped when I opened the window. (It was warm and sunny yesterday) He came back last night, and again at 6:30am today. His routine is vine to window, tap, poop, and back to the vine. The annoying tapping aside, one cat (Gracie) has knocked everything near the window into the sink, and he wakes up the dog who the runs around the house barkinG like she’s scaring away a big bad intruder.

My parents had an Eastern Towhee that would knock on their window every morning from spring to fall for years. He trained them to bring him out a crumb of bread lol. They liked him though and named him Rufus. He came back for several years, then one year no more. :(

My parents have a wood pecker that bangs on the gutter outside their bedroom when the bird feeder is empty :D

I knew some folks who were so distracted by a woodpecker banging on the top eaves of their cabin, that the husband took a shotgun and blew holes in his cabin. :- p

We have had a woodpecker occasionally, they sound like someone is using a jackhammer! The robin has stopped, for now, must have gone to lunch.
On a sad note the eagle that was nesting in the park behind us was killed on Sunday, by another female eagle, she also killed the eaglet.

I very rarely laugh, but your story tickled my funny bone. Those stories are priceless and I have a very vivid imagination. Then I was sad to hear about Mom and eaglet. I could see maybe a male doing that but a female? Nature is not very kind sometimes. Pam

We used to have a pretty cardinal sleeping under the roof hanging from our side door. He came every Fall for about 7 years and he was getting older and his coloring was faded. He slept there every night. Then one Fall nothing....

I came home from work on day and a squirrel was inside my birdfeeder with his tail hanging out. I put everything down on the ground snuck over to the feeder and gave his tail a gentle tug. the next thing I knew the feeder was across the yard and I was covered in sunflower seed. we lived on a very busy road at the time and the feeder was in the front yard. can't imagine what people thought what with me sitting on the ground laughing . never did see were the squirrel went to.
