14 ct or 18 ct aida
Has anyone done this pattern on 18 ct Aida (or 22 ct) instead of 14 ct Aida? Would it look better on one or the other? It is a very large pattern and I am thinking I might want a smaller finished project. Just wondering if anyone has experience or an opinion for this piece done on a higher stitch count. Thanks.

When I get a kit I never change the fabric that come with it unless the one I don't see good.

I think it would look awesome on 18 or 20. More like a painting or photograph. Much better size for the average wall, too.

I agree with jlhewes that this would look really great on a smaller size than 14ct. I think 14ct. would take away from the beauty of the picture, but 18ct. would be just about right. I change the size of fabric quite often when I do a project. That is one of the reasons I rarely buy kits because I want to use my own choices.

Try 16 AIDA. 16 or 18 will give you a tighter piece. 14 will show the fabric holes and you can see light when you hold it up. I prefer 16 on just about every piece that I do. It’s easy to reconfigure the fabric size.
