stitch count & fabric
Can you tell me what the stitch count is for this design and also the type of fabric (i.e. linen, Aida etc.) That this kit is stitched upon? Thanks!

Hi there

This is a kit and it is 7 X 16 and the material is 28 c mushroom even weave cloth. Just do not forget to add 4 inches to the border for the framing. The count of stitching is 196 x 448. Happy stitching

This is a kit and it comes with a piece of 28ct. Mushroom even-weave fabric. The pattern is stitched over 2 threads. The stitch count is 98 stitches x 224 stitches. The finished size is 7 inches x 16 inches. Being a dog lover I really like this pattern.

I too am a dog lover and I have done so many pieces. I did this on Aida 18 count as I
prefer to use the smaller stitches. As someone reminded you, leave 4" all around for the
framing. If you have problems you can post on this site and I will help you as best I can

Thanks for all the help! I noticed that two different amounts of stitches are given by two people. One is half the number of stitches that the first person said! Don't want to be a cause of a tiff, so I will just order and do the simple math by my simple self. It is fairly simple. EXS would sell more kits if they would just list the count of the fabric and the number of stitches for every darn kit!

Since it's even weave, you stitch over 2 threads, usually with 2 strands of floss. So, 28 ct would have 14 stitches per inch. 14 x 7 = 98. 14 x 16 = 224. Syagel is correct; miss cCrossStitch forgot to divide the 28 by 2.

Oh PS: Bucilla will give you some extra fabric around the pattern.

Thank you, thank you thank you! I ordered the kit, I like to stitch in a higher thread count (stitch count) , so I'll just wait until it gets here to see if I like the mushroom color. Since it's not a gift for someone else, I may do it the way the kit wants it done...

I'm doing the Cat Wisdom equivalent at the moment; very nice soft mushroom coloured fabric, but I couldn't cope with the 28 count - I'm doing it on 14 count - much easier and looking really nice on cream Aida.

Everyone, you can always trust jlhewes and syagel. They are extremely knowledgeable about all matters concerning needlework as does Ms Kitty and jclifford.

That's all I'm saying on the subject!!!!!!
