I would like to know where I can purchase the frames and matting for the butterfly patterns.

Hi there.
You can go to Herrschners.com for the frame I think for the mat too.

I know JoAnn Fabrics carries a lot of frames and the mats for the frames. I have bought from them several times. If you don't have a store close you can go online at JoAnnFabrics.com.

Some thoughts on the butterfly's frame:
You can get a Joann's type frame in standard sizes: 3 x 5, 5 x 7, etc. I've used them a few times by removing the glass & padding sheets
The leaflet usually lists who did the framing, so you could contact that person / shop.
Sudberry House has some nice boxes with 5 x 5 & 6 x 6 openings. The butterfly would look nice as a wooden box lid.
If you have a local framer, they might have one like it. I've seen ones very similar in frameries I've shopped at. You can try Joann's or Michael's, if you decide to use mat. I tried Joann's on a little cross stitch piece once. I was told they can't order less than 6" stock. Maybe true, maybe not.
My personal preference is to find a framer who knows needlework & stay away from Joann's, Michael's, Aaron Bros, etc, because they can hire people that don't know much about framing. Took a picture to Aaron Bros & they didn't even center the cross stitch piece.

Need to clear something up. I have bought some of my frames at JoAnn Fabrics however I do my own framing and always have. I have never taken a picture to a framer. I taught myself many years ago because we had no framers in my small town.

I know I'm getting off topic, but, syagel, what do you do for the odd sizes that needlework designers come up with? Say your piece is 6.5" x 13", what then?

May-be this isn't the correct way, but I leave enough fabric around my pictures so that I can adjust to larger frames if I have to. In those cases I don't usually put a mat with them. Some times if that happens I will add my own cross stitch type border around the picture so there is not so much blank area. Hope this answers your question. Have a Happy Easter.

whatever you do is correct, & it sounds like it works well. Sometimes I omit some rows, if the pattern allow, to make the piece fit a standard frame. I'll be doing that with the Lanarte "Romantic Picnic.". Don' need all those wispy half-crosses around the picnicking couple. I don't send much to the framer anymore -- some items to be shown at a fair, some I want framed & matted with special techniques, like V-cuts on the mat, filets on the mat, etc.
Happy Easter too all!

Thanks for all the information about frames. I too do most of my framing. I often like the frames used in the displays of the patterns and that is why I wanted to know where I could purchase them. Again, thanks.
