It's a counted cross stitch kit. 12 x 14 inches on 18-ct Ivory Aida cloth. Full & half stitches. It won't have an alphabet, so you would have to chart your own to change message.

PS: Kits come with everything - cloth, floss, needle, chart, instructions.

I would go to my state local library and ask the librarian for a book about Alphabet in cross stitch and design my own words to fit it.

Things must be different in Rhode Island, but then it is very tiny! If your local library can't help, there are many booklets for sale on line, probably free alphabets too. Your problem will be finding one you like in the right size for the pattern. Yes, there are 1000's of them out there, from 3 squares x 2 squares, on up.

Your best bet is what jlhewes suggested and go online to find an alphabet pattern. Just about any size and type is available. I know my library has very little cross stitch information even though it is a good size library. it is so much easier just to search online for what you want and purchase it.

What I have done sometimes is get cross stitch graph paper and design my own letters and sayings. You can get it for free at Cyberstitchers.com.
