I would like to make this as a pillow top for my Chinese daughter in law, I would hope these are Chinese not Japanese or Korean. Also I am curious in some places thread is mentioned but in the description it is not mentioned so I am just wonder if I need to order the thread/

Hi Hmuench,

This is our design. The symbols used are Japanese Kanji symbols. However it can be confusing as these are based on Chinese symbols called Hanzi. I believe some Japanese Kanji symbols can vary from the Chinese Hanzi versions. However the ones featured in this design are similar in both Japan and China.

This design is for the pattern chart only, you will need to order the fabric and DMC cottons seperately. Everything Cross Stitch list all the supplies needed below the pattern so you can order the patterns and all your supplies needed at once.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks and Best Wishes

Tereena: What fabric is this stitched on? Color? Is the entire fabric stitched? Looks like two different colors. Please advise.

Hi jclifford,

The background is stitched so you can stitch it on any colour fabric, though we recommend white or off white. You can stitch the whole design as a sampler or use the individual designs on ornaments, greeting cards etc. Full cross stitches, Quarter Stitches and Backstitching are used in this pattern. It is a black and white symbol pattern.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks and Best Wishes

Tereena: Perfect. Thank you so much for the fast response. If you have any Korean patterns or get any, please let me know. I am Korean and my sons and my nephew loves the Asian art(s) and words and really would like to stitch some Korean things (such as the traditional men and women in traditional old folk clothing), words, items, etc. I have tons of "Old Korea and men and women", I think I just may send at least one out to turn into a pattern to see how this will work.

Hi jclifford, Thanks, we do not have any Korean patterns at the moment but I will keep an eye out for some images we can license to make patterns and will let you know when we add some to the website.

Thanks
