DCM floss compared to Generic Floss.....
A couple of you are aware I made two purchases online. Amazon sells the floss as well. A makeshift korean version. It is slightly different than DCM Floss. Be warned, these colors are not exact matches, SO stick with one brand only DCm or Korea...

I believe the little numbers are the DMC "equivalent" from our research before. You can use DMC for colors that aren't included in this collection. Just don't combine the Korean? Chinese? Color with the Dmc on one pattern.

Thats correct! I took a photo of two numbers which are same but different shades. Learning lol...

I know what you mean. I never use anything except DMC floss. It is not expensive and it is the one brand I can trust. I checked on the Korean company when doing research and it didn't impress me at all. Guess I am just a "floss snob". LOL I rarely do a kit, but if I do the only one that I will use their brand of floss is Dimensions Inc. All others I change over to my DMC floss.

SYagel, Anchor floss is very good. You should be able to use it in Anchor kits. It is consistent in dye lots & easily replaceable if you run short.

Thanks for the advice jlhewes. I will remember that if I ever get an Anchor kit. So far have never gotten one though. I do learn a lot from all of you even after 30 years of stitching. Like I always say "you can still teach this old dog new tricks". LOL Have a good Labor Day. I am off to JoAnn Fabrics to use all my coupons.

Anchor floss is an excellent product. I use DMC because it is readily available and also a great product. I've never had any problems whatsoever with DMC. Many stitchers prefer to use Anchor black and white because it provides better coverage. I do as well. I haven't tried Dimensions but from the looks of it, it seems to be a nice product. Better to spend a few bucks more on floss, etc than to have an entire project ruined.

Have fun at JoAnn's, syagel, and let us know what you bought.

Texas Stitcher it was one of my cheaper trips to JoAnn's. Only spent $20. Got some embroidery needles, sticky boards for framing, angled lint brush for my sewing machine, and some printer fabric for my computer for a quilting project. I also got some DMC black floss because my John Wayne project takes a lot and I never seem to have enough black. Didn't pay full price for anything except a $1.00 Sudoku puzzle book. Never tried Sudoku and several people said to try it. Math was my best subject in school so will see. Have a good week.
