finding a pattern with specific colors
Hi, I want to make a picture for my bathroom that incorporate specific colors I'm using in the wall, rug and one accent color. Anyone have any suggestions how/where to look without spending hours looking at every pattern ever created!

Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure what kind of pattern you have in mind, but you can take any pattern you like and change the colors. Embroidery thread is not that expensive. Don't be afraid to make changes. I was afraid at first to change anything that the pattern called for, but I found a picture that looked exactly like my yellow Labrador retriever, except my Lily has a brown nose, not a black one. So out when the black thread that came with the kit, and I bought DMC brown thread to make it look just like her. My husband was impressed. There are lots of cross stitch companies online that you can go to and browse all the patterns they have to sell, not just only sticking to google. As for the Pintest, or what ever it is called, yes, you can see lots of pictures, but no idea as to where to buy a lot of the patterns. i just used google to find places that sell patterns and that is how I found this web site, and besides the patterns that they sell, this blog has given me lots of ideas. Others here may give you some of their favorite sites.

You can't avoid the browsing, & searching by color won't help because the search engines don't index that way. Your best option is to search sites that have categories with several subcategories. Example: Cross stitch patterns / Browse by topic / Home Sweet Home / Bathtub. Click on Bathtub to see main design page.

Big sites include: Everything Cross Stitch, 123 Stitch, ABC Stitch Therapy, Stoney Creek,Hoffman Distributing (doesn't sell retail), The Stitchery (kits), Herrschner's.

Also, try a Google search: cross stitch patterns bathrooms. Will hopefully give you other online shops to try in the list of hits Google retrieves.
