Birth record
I think this may be something I would like to make for my soon to be newest granddaughter. However, I can't see it very well. Is it possible to get a better picture of it?

Thank you Miss Kitty. I could see that one very nicely. It is a family sampler rather than the birth sampler but quite similar and helpful. Thank you again.

If you paste that into your browser, you'll see the birth sampler instead of the family sampler

My grandkids call me "Oma". :)

Texas Stitcher, we were going to move to Germany shortly after our 1st grandchild was to be born. We thought it would be fun and also to be different from the other set of grandparants to have our grandchildren call us Oma and Opa. We were there for 5 years and are back now, but I love having it be different. I'm sure you do too.
I ordered that bunny birth record, it is so cute.

Yes, it is cute. At first I thought it was a sampler by Beatrix Potter. I have several by her and have yet to stitch one. I like them so much. I stitched samplers for all seven grandkids. That and Christmas stockings are some of my favorite stitching projects. I've done a few Hummels but am bored with those now. A big problem for me is being able to see. I really don't understand the problem. I don't have cataracts, wear prescription reading glasses and was assured by my eye doctor that with corrective lenses my vision was better than 20/20. I use a high quality "daylight" lamp. So why can I no longer stitch on 32 ct linen and 28 is beginning to give me problems. I'm tired of 25 ct Lugana. I have to get this figured out. I have tons of 32 and 28 ct in my stash, all beautiful colors and want to do nice patterns, Mirabilia appeals to me lately.

I'm actually from Nuernberg originally. Where did you live?

I'm still Oma but what started out as Opa turned into Papa because she couldn't pronounce it at the beginning. The other six all call us Opa and Oma.

Texas Stitcher, we lived south west of Heidelberg and south of Mannheim. A small village called Altlussheim. It is on the Rhine River across from Speyer. I used to ride my bike to Speyer often. I miss Germany very much.

OmaKaren: I too was in Germany and was in Heidelberg for 3 years. I loved it there and miss it very much. Going back there is on my bucket list.
