looking for Victorian bell pull hardware
My mom has made a beautiful bell pull and I would like to display it for her. However, I can not find Victorian bell pull hardware to use... that won't break me. Any suggestions? I am considering using Victorian drawer pulls and modifying them. It needs to be 8 inches wide.

Brass bellpull hardware is not cheap, as it sounds like you've discovered. Your best bet is probably to go with the wooden dowel w/finials style. Invest in some nice cord & tassels & it will look nice.

Thank you for your help in our quest for bell pull hardware. We went with Nordic Needle and are pleased with the price, quality, and delivery we received. I have certainly been to many stores and websites. We have enjoyed the journey. Mom and I have been to several thrift stores hoping to spot just the right hardware. In doing so, I am pleased to learn that homemaking arts projects are few and far between. Mom and I are hopeful that these items are kept and treasured in the family.
