Let me know......
Jthewes,
Thank you for getting back to me regarding the opalescent fabric. I'm somewhat hesitant to buying it until I get more feedback. I just don't like shipping fabric back if I discover it is too difficult to work with. If you start your project in the near future, please let me know what you think of it. I have other cross stitch patterns to keep me busy.

Could you go to a shop and check it out?

I'll start it early for you. I wanted to anyway, & I frequently promote & demote projects. They don't notice; they're just hang in around the spare bedroom. LOL

Too funny. I just demoted about 5 in favor of another stocking - work not fun. LOL

Hi Bermuda! Began stitching the opalescent fabric from PTP the other day, but kept on with the other piece. Both are 28-ct Lugana, but the difference is amazing.

The opalescent fibers are not a problem. They stand out at first, but soon fade away like linen fat threads. You just stitch. The holes, however, are very small compared to the Antique White Lugana. I can stitch that with naked eyes, but need my reading glasses for the PTP fabric. Feels more like stitching 36-ct.

However, I'm not sure whether the cause is the dying process, or just different brands. Wichelt & Zweigart can be quite different. Was in a class years ago that involved tea-dying the fabric. One woman complained that the holes disappeared.

Aida cloth might be different. Perhaps you want to wait for someone to respond on that? I don't think you'd like the Lugana.
