Retreats
Has anyone ever attended a Stitching Retreat? There's one in Vermont next weekend. I live in CT so was looking for something closer. I do counted cross stitch & live to get together with other Stitchers! PS I get all my kits, supplies from this site.

I attended retreats for a number of years at Lake Tahoe. Every one would be different, of course. These were mostly getaways, though one had a workshop format with classes. Some of the bigger clubs can bring in professional designers, where the group stitches one of the designer's works under her/his guidance

Oh, Annie's has taken over the Williamsburg Christmas Stitching Retreat. Sounds big.

Keep thinking of more. Some stores have retreats. Nordic Needle has a hardanger / Scandinavian one. Check your storewebsites in your area.

jl, is that Williamsburg, VA? Love it there. I loved in Yorktown for a number of years. Beautiful area. Never heard of a stitching retreat. sounds intriguing. Maybe one day. Hope that they have enough OTT lights and magnifiers available so we don't have to tote our own. LOL

Yes, Williamsburg, VA. I think I've seen the ads in Just Cross Stitch. I doubt they'll supply you with a magnifier, but we have far less to tote than the quilters. You would definitely fall off your chair if you saw them, especially at steep, rocky Zephyr Point Retreat Center at South Lake Tahoe.

OK, I'll have to finish The Kiss. New Year's Resolution for 2015 now made. I have a couple of those H&E types planned, but on PTP hand-dyed linen for the background. This stitcher wasn't born yesterday.

Check out www.stitchershideaway.com. They seem to do retreats in Mystic & Sturbridge.

Warning I hate to make: Don't go to EGA retreats if you only stitch Aida. Nice one coming up in Florida, but they're sort of like the American Royal Needlework Guild, meaning they're into very advanced stitching, not cross stitch & never Aida.
