new to chit chat
Hello, just want to introduce myself to whoever is out there. I started cross stitch late
in the game and while I was working in a demanding job. The peace I found from a few
minutes to sometimes as much as an hour became very precious to me, and although my eye
sight and my arthritic fingers often lead me astray, now that I am my husband's caregiver, it has
become more important than ever.

Hi Jamye40,
You'll find a lot of nice people to talk with here on Everything Cross Stitch Chit Chat. Some very experienced stitchers who are very helpful. Understand about the eyesight and arthritis.

Welcome Jamye40 to the ECS chat room. I know what you mean about cross stitching as a stress reliever. I was a dept. head for 25 years before I retired and cross stitching was so relieving for me. I also was my husband's caregiver after I retired for 3 years until he passed away in February so I understand some of what you have to do.

Everyone here is very kind, and willing to help other stitchers. I have been stitching for over 30 years so am glad to answer any questions you might have. We also share family things too so feel free to come on here often and join in. Welcome!!!

Welcome to our chat room. We all know how you feel and what you are going through. Know what you mean about the eyesight and arthritis, but let me share what my doctor told me. I went to her because my fingers were hurting so bad that I needed relief. I told her "I know I shouldn't be stitching anymore because it hurts so much". She told me, "No don't stop stitching, don't ever stop stitching. That's the only thing that will keep your fingers mobile. Keep exercising them by whatever means necessary - especially stitching".

So on that note, Welcome Fellow Stitcher and Keep On Stitching Sister!
