Fabric Sug
Hi there,

Just wondering if anybody has a fabric brand/size suggestion for this pattern?
And are most fabrics made the same - like different brands are they similar in design?

Thanks!

There are many different types of cross stitch fabric like Aida, linen, Lugana, and hardanger just to name a few. if you click on the Cross stitch fabric link on the left side of this page you will see all the fabrics available here. As far as this pattern it calls for either 14ct. or 18ct. Aida fabric. I would use a light blue Aida fabric that you can find here to purchase. Don't forget to add three inches extra per side for framing when purchasing your fabric. For example if I was using 14ct. Aida the finished size of the pattern is 17 x 18 inches. I would purchase a piece of fabric 24 x 24 inches. Hope this helps.

Any Aida is 8 threads woven in a basketweave pattern to leave visible holes. They vary in softness, & a little in fiber content.

Evenweaves are just as the name suggests -- same # of threads warp & woof. Specially made for stitchers. Many thread densities, many different fiber contents, from pure cotton to pure linen, to blends with synthetics to many more.
