Can anyone tell me what the smaller number is on the DMC Thread label? It says 782 and then in brackets a smaller number of (781) appears. Does this mean the two colors are the same? I'm out of the 782 and am wondering if I use 781 in its place, will I ruin the design?

Not sure, but I think it's a discontinued color. You have to use the larger number now. It's the same way on my floss chart & no 781 color shown.
