I have done several perforated paper ornaments. It is easy to work with and does hold up. You just need to remember not to pull the stitches very tight so you don't tear the paper. That happened to me once.

I stitched a cat ornament from a kit on perforated paper for my christmas tree several years ago and pull it out to hang on my tree year after year and amazingly it is in excellent shape.
