This is only a pattern. If you look at it again, there is a list of supplies under the picture. It also gives a suggestion for material.

It said that it would after I placed the order but it did not give me choice of material only of threads

The list of supplies needed for this pattern are listed right under the pattern. You just check the boxes of the flosses that you need or want or you can hit the "Check All" button at the bottom. Once the flosses are checked, you can add them to your shopping cart. The fabric this pattern calls for is one we don't sell so that it why it's not listed for you to purchase on here. The fabric is listed to the right of the pattern: 28ct. Taupe Linen and most of the time this information is listed in the "Description" box which you can get to by clicking on the description tab next to the supplies tab. I hope this information helps.
