Yes, there is material out there, Miss C, just Google it. Wichelt Imports has a sizeable selection, all colors, counts, widths, with and without scalloped edges, patterned, the list goes on. Zweigart has Aida ones.
Have you tried Etsy, Ebay and Pinterest???????

Texas Stitcher, LOL!
Lots of fabric out there. We got some beautiful fabric at our Stitching store though all I can remember was it was linen. The problem we had was finding the appropriate hardware. Certainly size does matter in the cost. We wanted something with "old" victorian charm for the bell pull Mom had completed. She needed 8 inches. We did finally make some consessions and bought 2 pair from Nordic Needle that had charm but not the wow factor she was hoping for. Mom is working on a second bell pull, same pattern, now for my other brother. She has used the Crossed Wing Collection, Wood Warblers II. To get more off track... she made me the afghan 2 christmas' ago. Absolutely beautiful! And yes, I was smiling as I wrote this... : )

I asked ECS & Nordic Needle. Both said they would still cut from the bolt if asked. The bolts are normally around 55" width. So, you could order 10" or whatever, and get a 10" x 55" piece. Fabric of your choice.

ABC Stitch Therapy is an interesting website. Thanks. I didn't know that one existed However, there too the brass bell pulls are not big enough. Eight inch width is hard to find. Saw one years ago in a neighbor's home- very large and striking. they don"t make them like they use to.

She stated that she wants it 7" wide, that's why I recommended bands. No seams!
