clarification
one of the reviewers said there are a lot of half stitches, I was under the impression that you could not use aida cloth for this. Also that there are a lot of errors have any corrections been made to the pattern? Why are there different sizes of fabric in the supply list? I could understand if they were different count but they aren't.

Hi Michele, I think they must just be pre-cut sizes. You could use Aida, but all the partial stitches would get tiresome. How about an evenweave -25 or 28 count Lugana over 2? Easy to work on, nice lookiing finish.
I don't usually like most birth samplers, but this one is nice...must be the nursery rhyme characters. Do kids now even know those old rhymes?
Good luck.

First of all the two different sizes of fabric listed are because they are from two different companies. Companies sell their fabric sizes differently. I could find no where that was listed any errors or corrections to the pattern. I use Aida fabric all the time and do 1/2, 1/4 and 3/4 stitches very easily. My secret is I use a regular sharp sewing needle for my stitching. I have always used a sharp needle for over 30 years.

Hope this helps. It is a very cute pattern.

Half stitches are no problem. They're just one leg of the full cross. You can choose SW -> NE, or the second leg, SE -> NW.
