Any suggestions about how to work a piece that's this large? My frame only goes to 24".

No doubt you will probably need to cross stitch it in sections. If it was me doing this pattern, I would use Q-snaps and create a Q-Snap frame that would allow me to stitch the width the pattern and work my way down the pattern. I would begin the pattern with my very first cross stitch being in the upper LEFT corner AFTER I measured 3 inches in from the side of the fabric and 3 inches down from the top of the fabric and where those 2 lines intersect is where my first cross stitch would go. I ALWAYS buy my material to include 3 inches on EACH side to allow for matting and/or framing.

I'm sure there are other experienced stitchers on this chat board that can give you other ideas how to do this large a pattern. I have a large HAED pattern I'm doing right now that is fairly large.

Patty, I agree with Bermuda. I use Q-Snap frames and find they are very proficient for the same reason. You can actually put together a frame size that will allow you to work on the width of the picture. This is very advantageous because you will not constantly be changing and re-positioning the frame after you begin your work. I also like Q-Snaps because they won't leave damaging marks on your fabric. This is a beautiful piece. Best of Luck to you!

Thanks for your feedback. Still trying to get up the nerve to attempt this!

No reason to use 25 count over 2. 18 ct Aida would make it 19.5" wide. 36 ct evenweave over 2 is the same. Still leaves you room for mounting.

Patty, What's that old saying "A journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step"! Jlhewes offers you a good alternative. My advice is, if you have not already done this, to actually measure out these different dimensions to see exactly what you area you would be covering. 19.5 inches is also a "respectable" size. I think it will come down to your personal preference depending on A) Who the project is for and B) Where you think it would be placed. Hope this helps!

I bought 28 ct for this pattern, that was the recommended fabric and it said to stitch it over two, or I would never be able to do it.

If it's too big I can always use it as an area rug! LOL

I prefer one huge piece of art over many smaller ones. I am the opposite when it comes to cross stitching because I have this thing about wanting to see the finished product right away. If I ever stitch this one, I don't have a clue on where to hang it. Maybe in my office and I'll take something else down. Another consideration is framing, it will probably cost several hundred of dollars.

It's so beautiful, every so often I take it out and look at the patterns and floss.
