COLOR CHART
I downloaded the PCStitch program to work on project I am thinking about working on. The picture is in color and when I click on the symbol chart I have no idea what colors to use. How can I get the chart/picture to tell me what colors I need to use to stitch.

Hi Karla,

I have only used PCStitch a few times, though I've had it installed on my computer for many years! In version 7 across the bottom of my window there is a toolbar that shows all the colours/symbols in the palette. When I hover my mouse over any one of these, it shows me the name and DMC colour number. You can also go under the Tools Menu and under Palette Tools you can bring up the Floss Palette window. I you are connected to a printer, you can also Print Colour Key - though I haven't done this in a while and I forget what exactly it gives you.

I have downloaded the demo version 10, but I haven't had a chance to play around with it much yet. I've just opened it however, and I see the Floss Palette Toolbar is still there and can be floating or docked on the bottom of your screen. If you right-click on the toolbar you can choose to Show Available Colours which brings up the floss type and colour choices on the right hand side of my screen. So - it looks like the new version works much the same as the previous ones did. If you look under the View drop-down you will see several different Panels that might help you as well.

Hope this helps towards what you are looking for!!

Very pretty window. You have to use an over-dye for the amber panes!

An over-dye???

Hand dyed floss that has a variation in shades of colors. Check here under Floss & Thread for the Weeks brand, or Gentle Arts Sampler Thread line.
