Fabric Size
So this pattern is 18 count and I want to do 14 count. However, in using the floss calculator, would need a piece 20x25. Where can I get a piece this size? And also a wooden frame to use.. my eyes aren't the best so I'm thinking it would be hard to stitch in 18 count on black.

If I were you, I would buy a piece of off-white fabric to stitch on. The background is 100% covered by stitching so the color of the fabric isn't that important. I definitely would not be stitching dark colors on dark colors.

Stitching with a frame is something you have to experiment with on your own. You can buy from this site. I hesitate to recommend another place for that purchase because Everything Cross Stitch offers it for sale on his site. I've made recommendations before but realize that we need to support ECS to make sure they stay in business.

Thank you, Nancy... I will take your advice. But one thing.. the cross on the pattern is not stitched.. that is why it is on black I think.

I have a 6x12 wooden rack...

You can use the 14 ct fabric. The stitch count is 266 x 200 -- this would make the stitching area 19 x 14.25 inches. Add on six inches each way for framing. Your 14 count fabric should be 25 x 21 inches. .

Make sure that you have good lighting. Make copies of the pattern and put the original in a safe place

I have not attempted a piece this large. If you scroll backward on the Chit Chat Board you will find lots of opinions on frames, hoops, etc.

Lisa,
I agree with Nancye. If you've not done this big of a project and you're eyes are bad, then 18 on black jobelan may frustrate you. Go with an 18 white of off-white fabric with good lighting. Filling in with black floss may be easier on your eyes on a white or off-white fabric than trying to find the next stitch.
