This is a very cute pattern. I personally think that using red fabric would take away from the pattern.

This is an adorable pattern! I tend to agree with Nancy about the red fabric.

Well, I really think you're right Nancy! Too much red, too much over the top.

If it was close-cropped...not too wide around the mouse...I think it would be bright, happy and not too much at all.... :)

VCESS and Cory and NANCYE,

Thank you all for your input. I will keep the red in mind but I'll look at other colors as well. I wonder how the "sparkly" linen material, you know, white with the "sparkly" fibers in it would look?

I enjoy receiving other opinions and options from other stitchers like yourselves!

OOH -- The sparkly fabric sounds adorable. Much better choice.

Yes, just looking at some opalescent white fabric.....

I just think this mouse is so Cute. Looks like the tree has some Xmas cookie ornaments on it for him to nibble on!

Not a fan of rodents but this is one is cute. I think the opalescent fabric would be a good choice. Light enough not to detract from the colors in the pattern but adding a festive sparkle. Let us know your choice, Bermuda.

After seeing Bones' Amid Amish, I would consider doing a boarder. Sweet mouse!

I think I am going to go with the white opalescent fabric. I like the thought of a touch of "winter" sparkle for the background....
Will probably order mouse chart next week....still working on the small project (Rede Sampler) but will have that done in about 10 days and then go back to "Sacred Hour". I've got the urge to begin stitching it again.
By the way, how many projects do you stitchers have "in progress" right now? I have about 4....
