Getting More Floss
Hello,
I purchased this design at Joanne Fabric in Cleveland, Ohio and I have not yet started this design but I am worried about having enough thread to finish the design.

I have several questions:

1. Do I call the phone number on pattens sheet to get more thread?
Do I email you to get more floss?

2. Does it take a long time to get floss I need to finish the design?

3. What is the brand of floss used in creating this pattern?

Thank you for your help in answering my questions. I like this baby record very much.

First of all start in doing it and then when you finish it ask for what you are missing as floss. Good luck

Well, it is a Dimensions kit and if you have been following the posts on this chat at all you will have learned that they seem to have a very poor record of supplying extra floss, if at all.

If it were me, I would convert the Dimensions colors to DMC. Using DMC you won't have to worry about ever running out.

Do not follow Miss C's advice. It makes no sense to begin a large project not knowing if you will have enough materials to complete and all the while hoping for the best.

It's a very cute pattern. Good luck.

PS Yes, you would have to contact Dimensions directly either via phone or email. The info should be listed on the pattern.

I agree with Texas, call Dimensions and see if you can buy extra thread and ask Dimensions what the floss in the kit is comparable to, ie DMC? ANCHOR? and does Dimensions have a CONVERSION table so you can match your DMC or Anchor threads with.
You might want to keep in mind that the kit FABRIC may not be as wide for framing when your project is completed, so making sure your "on center" with the fabric is going to be pretty important when beginning your first stitches.

Good point, Bermuda. I've also noticed that the fabric provided is a little on the skimpy side.

I would use the bare minimum of fabric because it was easier to handle when I first learned how to stitch. I really didn't have a clue. The shop where I had my projects framed at added fabric to the edges. I had to pay extra and it only works if matting is used. So, yes, do be sure to begin in the center.

What a cute pattern! Let us know if you are successful in your quest for floss. I'm also glad to see someone from Cleveland on this board. I live in Brooklyn Heights. And yes folks, we are finally thawing out! Linda

Cyberstitchers.com is the go to site for conversion charts, especially for kit companies. Many put aside the kit floss and buy the DMC. Warning: you can't fill-in with DMC at the end. It will show.

My Two cents worth.......Don't start until you know if they will supply extra floss. If they won't then I would toss the floss (which I have done) and start over with DMC.

Very Good points, jl and Sydney,
Can you just imagine (or maybe we don't want to go there) only have a few rows of stitching to complete the project, run out of the kit thread then find out that the DMC/Anchor threads do not match up exactly. UGH!!!

Dear Fellow Stitchers,
Thank you for the advice to change the floss to DMC. That was my original thought to try to match up the colors in the kit with DMC.

I do not want to start the pattern until I know I can get more floss, so I will go to the cyberstitchers.com website to see if I can make the conversions to DMC. THank you for that advice.

I will probably use my own fabric since many of you had complaints about the fabric provided.

Thank you.
