This is not a kit. It is pattern only. You have to purchase supplies separately. I don't know the size. It looks like there are a lot of different colors floss. I would not recommend it for a beginner. Look for something with only a few colors that are distinctly different.

I think a motivated beginner could do this. It's certainly not at the level of Heaven & Earth Designs, or Artecy.
