Information
This pattern is pretty much what I am looking for, but it is very hard to make out what exactly is on it, even using the larger image setting. I can't make out what is at the top center. My daughter is a reading specialist at our local charter school, I thought this would be nice to hang in her office.
Also, there is no info on what fabric it was stitched on, the size or thread used.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This is one from the "Take Time To..." series from Jeannette Douglas. This one is stitched on 32 count Lambswool linen from Permin/Wichelt with silk and metallic threads. Threadpacks are available for about $25-$26 that include everything needed to stitch the sampler and are less costly than buying all the silks separately.
The stitch count is 66 x 66 and there are lots of specialty stitches included for interest. They are quite beautiful made up and your daughter would love it!

You can see the rest of the series on Jeannette's website.

Dear Miss Kitty,
Thank you so much for your quick reply and all the info I needed. My concern is I have only cross stitched on Aida, bought linen, but chickened out. I know I could do it on a 16 ct. Aida, but what about these specialty stitches... is it embroidery stitches? I did an embroidery clock about a 100 years ago,
and have only used cotton floss. Do you think I could handle it???

Regards,
Joan

Some of the specialty stitches, like Algerian eyelets can not be done on Aida fabric. The specialty packs also include charms, which would be out of scale if you change the fabric size.

But if you like the pattern, then you could probably come up with a way of adapting it. You shouldn't have any trouble with the threads if you take your time.

Thanks, Bea
