How would I......
I want to stitch this twice, for two different people.....how would I get a second set of the charms (key & learning lamp)?? I looked here for additional ones but didn't see any on the "beads & charms" page. Anyone?

Just Google key charm (I measure the kit charm first, as they are often listed in inches or millimeters), then look f I r one that is similar. Many sites appear, so you can choose the metal, the size, even the finish, and compare prices. Then Google "lamp of learning" or "lamp of knowledge". No results? Try go ogling just "lamp", but then you will see lots of different lamps. This site does not sell charms for every kit and kits are put together to use once, not for us to be economical. This is something we chat about often.
The kit makers have to have a profit, but we do support our designers...or else we would all have to design our own patterns. I try to buy patterns, fabric, floss, not the pricier kits, but sometimes, a kit just calls to me,mm too! Good luck!

Charms are expensive. Keep the $7.00 price for a second pattern. Don' t forget shipping costs.

I went to craftyful.com and paid 33 cents each for some and no more than $1.33 for others...

Well, I've been shopping in the wrong places! JABC, Mill Hill, etc.

I have not worked with charms. But, Michaels has charms in their bead area. With a 50% off coupon and no shipping it maybe worth checking out

Craftyful.com was fast and even wrote to me immediately after my order to let me know what finishes were available. They came quickly and their site is great for beads and charms and ribbon, too. I had know idea that my measly little order came all the way from China. The charms were perfect and nearly impossible to find anywhere on the internet.

I am altering an old chart of food items for my chef daughter's dining room. It is an A to Z food sampler and has taken me months to find buttons (yes, JABC), except for utensils (the charms) and zucchini (a tiny enameled copper pin on etsy). It was in an old pattern book called "Stitchin' In The Kitchen". I had bought it because it has a crab design in it...we live on Crab Street!

Just laying out the sampler to update with change of color and all buttons.

I sure will! I haven't posted a thing, yet have a box full of this year's finishes to get framed. It is so expensive.
The sampler of foods cost a small fortune in buttons and creativity, but I think I have it together...we shall see.
First must finish "Shenandoah" by Carriage House Samplings, which I have found difficult for somne reason...all just cross stitches, but I just figured out last night that, if the designer has lettering within a stitched background, best to do the lettering first, then the background, or the letters seem to comne out all "cattywumpus"! The regular lettering on just the fabric is fine, but it is an odd font that changes sizes of letters and some are within background stitching. Woof!

SuPitt,
Shenandoah is nice. Makes me think of the movie. I liked the movie.

Michaels is having a big sale I noticed on custom framing. I don't custom very often. most of my things are in gallon baggies...waiting. I did use them for a graduation gift. My daughter graduated in Dec with a degree in Lit. (wants to be a publisher/editor of fiction) anyway, she was and continues to be hooked on Shakespeare. I found a numbered print of his birth place, of course it wasn't a normal size so we did custom framing. I am still getting over that price even with the discounts.

BTW, I got an Email from Michaels. If you are on their email list, they are having their friends and family discout May 14-16. Hopefully there will be good deals on framing.

XSTITCHER522...thanks for the sale info on framing. I rely on a independent framer for thevcustom n stuff that b I want to look MN super, but Joanns and Lichens have b I think been great for custom and for regular size franmes! I often n wish designers would design for regular frame sizes, like 5x7, 8x10, etc. Drives me nuts, even if they are off by a fraction of an inch, because I see it!

My baby daughter just graduated last year with a degree in b Pure Mathematics. Her dad is a chemist as was my b dad and also my nephew...she must get her math from them, as I did college math through calculus and hated it. It took me ten years to get my degree, plus post grad work after that. The baby took 20! She worked hard at a job she loved before she finally decided that she wanted the education and did it herself. My husband was just complaining that, because he has a service connected injury, he could have helped her with school, but by the time VA approved him, she was in her last semester...they are SO slow.
