Floss list
Does anyone have a list of, or know if there is somewhere on this site where there is a list of the floss I need to buy for this pattern or will I have to wait for the pattern to arrive and then try to find somewhere local to purchase it or order it online and wait for it to arrive?

Thanks for any help you can provide. (I'm obviously anxious to get started on it!). ;-)

kmensing,
Contact "Customer Service" (listed above next to "Shopping Cart" and they will be glad to help you with a list of floss you will need to work on this pattern. ECS "customer service" is EXCELLENT in assisting stitchers with their needs. Kristi is one of the people and she may very well see your "chat" tomorrow (Monday) and be able put the list under the pattern's picture for you!

It is a really beautiful pattern. I can see why you are ready to start it.

Thank you so much for the advice! My brother and his wife bought a cabin on a lake where there are many loons. The loons always seem so peaceful, and were always a favorite of our grandparents'. They are a wonderful reminder of how important our grandparents were to all of us. I want to stitch this pattern and have it framed as a gift to my brother and sister-in-law to hang in their cabin and as a reminder to all of us that Grandma and Grandpa are together again and at peace, just as the loons are.

kmensing, This is a beautiful picture as are the sentiments regarding your grandparents. I am sure your brother and sister-in-law will just love it. Best of luck to you as you progress through the stitching of the picture. With 37 DMC floss colors I think it will be outstanding!

Thank you, Kristi! As I was trying to complete my order, it occurred to me that I might not have thought of everything and now I'm questioning whether I will need a different amount of floss if I decide to do the stitching on 28 count Jobelan rather than on the 14 ct Aida that the original pattern is written for? I used the fabric calculator to calculate the amt of fabric I will need, but will I need a different amt of floss than the original pattern calls for if I choose do use the 28 count fabric? Thank you for all of your help. I really appreciate it!

That IS a good question. I'm sitting here thinking about it, but I personally don't know. One of the other stitchers here who have more experience going from 14 count aida and jumping to 28 count fabric would be able to tell you if you need more floss.

Hello,

You shouldn't need any more floss than what is listed. When you are going to a 28ct. fabric from a 14ct. fabric, you are still covering the same amount of the space on the fabric. With a 14ct, you will stitch over 1 and with a 28ct. you will stitch over 2, so the space that is getting stitched is still the same. I hope that makes sense? Some other stitchers may have different experiences with this so hopefully, maybe someone else will chime in with their answer?
