I have this in my stash. It may be awhile before I start this since I have so many WIP patterns I'm working on right now. It is beautiful!

I have filled so many orders with this pattern in it! It's very popular and it's so pretty! How long did it take you to do, bookbett? I'm just being curious :) The colors in this pattern are just so bright and the scenery is just beautiful!

Bookbett - It must feel wonderful to actually finish a piece like this! I don't think I could, if I lived for 450 years. (Just a drop in the bucket of what my mom says it would take me to use all the patterns I have for stitching and quilting. She estimates 450,000 years for that. But I wouldn't want to exaggerate...)

Valerie, I got a kick out of your post. I definitely think you could finish this piece in less than 450 years. In a different chat a while back, syagel and I declared that we have so much in our stashes that we will have to live to be 120 to finish all of them. We also declared that we will still be exchanging stories in this chat room at that time!! The picture recommends 14 count aida. That would be a "walk in the park" for me as I finished Santa of The Forest not long ago on 32 count linen. I am thinking about putting this on my "wish list", but I'm afraid Everything Cross Stitch will e-mail me and say "Enough already"!!!

Hi Valerie, you are so sweet and funny ...lol..tell me about it I actually finished Sweet Remembrance in a year. But I was happy and glad I did it. Everyone who look at it is Amazed. The husband of my German BFF think it is a painting...so my labor and sacrifices ( as if it caused me sweat blood and tears lol) anyway I think you should try it. I used 11 counts so it really stands out.
OK good luck !if you will try it out.
Have a nice day!

Hello Kristi,
Yep! it is so beautiful. Me my husband my kids love it and all my friends will always say Wow! Actually I was able to finished it in a year but it was worth it. I had a lot of patterns I bought from you guys and they are all beautiful. So I spread the news to my friends and acquaintances who would like to crosstitch and I will be their Teacher lol. Lucky me. I am happy to share my hobby to them.

Bookbett,

Wow! I can't believe that took you only a year to finish! That's pretty amazing! I don't even touch the big projects such as this one because they are so intimidating! I just stick with the small ones that I can finish pretty quickly, lol! That's so wonderful to hear that you enjoy the patterns on our website and that you share your hobby with others :) Thank you for sharing!

jerseycrafter, I very much doubt that ECS will say "Enough already!" I think they'd be proud of you and glad to have you do as many projects as you can finish. As soon as I get some housework done, I'm going to start 2 new pieces. The problem is the quilting I'm doing...so many crafts sing to me! Better start on my next 450 years...val

Valerie, I have always wanted to delve into quilting. We have a wonderful quilt shop here called "The Pin Cushion". They recently moved and upgraded their store. They give lessons throughout the year. I also read recently that one of the churches here gather on Tuesday evening in the shop to make small quilts for the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. When I retired my husband bought me a Pfaff sewing machine. It does everything but make dinner!! So, I am really afraid of becoming addicted to one more thing! At some point I am going to try it. Don't know if I could stand having so many things "call my name."

jersey - very sensible of you to resist temptation! But at least if you do get the quilting bug, you'll use a machine. Myself, I do it by hand, all of it. It's very slow, but very soothing (as long as your pattern is not too challenging!) People think I'm crazy to do it that way, but to be honest, sewing machines never liked me. And in return I can't be bothered with them. So I do it the way our grandmothers did it, and I turn out some beautiful things...slowly. Needless to say, the more I quilt, the less I cross-stitch, but I never forget one craft entirely. It's all fun. Bye for now! Valerie
