Finished this tonight
I finally finished my project..its not washed or pressed (lots of wrinkles) and i forgot to add 3 inches ..i am going to try some creative way to frame it ( i am open to suggestions) maybe " finish" the edges and hang it from a dowel with ribbons or decorative clips...i know this doesn't compare to the beautiful projects that I've seen on this chat..my project was not complicated at all but i really enjoyed stitching it.. i find this hobby so relaxing and in this crazy world it's what i need to keep sane...i love to see what everyone is working on..it is so inspiring and pushes me to try more challenging patterns..i am going to browse the ecs website and treat myself to a new pattern tonight...Barb

I think it looks great. I like your choices of how to hang it. I would even consider doing a pillow. It would look darling. I use to have a little bench inside the back door. My kids would sit and watch the backyard weather and wildlife when we couldn't go outside.

Don't give up on the idea of framing, if you really want it! I found a framer who can do it right with small margins. Just take it in and ask...you might be surprised what a good framer can do. I like the pillow idea, too. This is great...I love my birds of all kinds here at the beach. I tried two other shops before I found the incredible framer!

We have all messed up on our projects at one time or another. I never finished ones that I realized were badly centered. Your photo is great. Just because you are not doing one of the complicated or painting like patterns does not detract from the beauty of the piece. I do not enjoy stitching every single square. I don't like changing floss every three or four stitches. For me, it is too much work and not worth the effort.

You can add a couple inches of fabric on the ends to add length. I am sure that you can find a great piece of contrasting fabric and make a great pillow.

Several years ago I made a piece a comparable project with a state of Michigan theme. The finished product stayed in my drawer for several years. My intent was to make one for Arizona and one for Missouri. Then I was going to frame all three and hang them together. Started Arizona and didn't finish. Never started the Missouri one. I did make one for South Carolina and had it framed for my sister

Remember, Ask a simple question and get a long winded answer.

I have this pattern, too. I may have to get it out and get started. I also have a framer that usually cuts off my margins. He says I leave tooooooooo much. If you want it framed, I would also go and ask. You might be surprised.

Really like the design! Check with a framer, they can do creative things.
Another idea that I saw (but didn't do) on a tutorial, was the stitcher took a piece of fabric that matched the color of one of the colors in the pattern and sewed the fabric all the way around the finished pattern which gave her the added inches she needed to have her project framed.
