prices & shipping charges
this is general info:

While browsing, I saw something I liked for my daughter.. she loves the beach..a quick stitch 5x7 project. the site I saw it on had it priced at $6, w/ shipping charge @ $6.95.. I thought this was much!!!.. for a pattern only, no fabric, no floss...I decided not to order it..

I had never heard of the designer, but I googled it, found the pattern on the designer site; $6 w/ FREE SHIPPING!
Of course I ordered it..
It pays to be patient..
Happy stitching!

Here? That's weird. They don't post shipping on the design page. You get to choose shipping when ordering.

no, this was not on ecs, but on the designer's own site... they offered free shipping, which I found strange also... here's hoping they didn't just make my $6.. lol
showed free shipping when pattern ordered..

I did see these designs on other sites, so I feel confident it is on the up & up.. surely hope so..

Stitchery has flat rate $5.95 shipping for anything. What's the Latin? Caveat Emptor?

I've heard that a lot can be had on Amazon. We have Prime and everything ships for free. Some products are more expensive on Amazon, like my Olivia's French hot chocolate, but with the free shipping it equals out. I still prefer to order from individual businesses when possible. Penzey's Spices is a great business to order from. Many offer coupons or free merchandise to returning customers, I like that. Sort of like a Mom and Pop store. Sorry, sometimes I get a little nostalgic.

my son orders a lot of house hold paper products (& other things) from Amazon; no shipping.. he likes the fact "no outside " shopping..

my pattern is coming from the homepage of the designer site.. new designer to me, lots of pretty things & their home page say they "decided to offer free shipping to customers"..
maybe they are new & building a business, but this surely is a good way to build a customer base, especially with good product & customer service..

we shall see.

I order so much stuff on Amazon since if my order is over $35 shipping is free. the stuff I usually get is stuff I can't get here in my small town so I don't have to drive very far. Main things I buy are books and DVDs., but I have bought other general merchandise stuff too.

So does my son, syagel. He'd like to order groceries if he could. I order quite a bit myself. When I mentioned ordering from specialty shops I was referring to cross stitch products, I also like to order my coffee, etc from EnjoyBetterCoffee.com. I appreciate that they have products that are not readily available in stores and try to support them. The older we get the more of an effort it is for us to get dressed and go shopping. The night before I always tell myself that I will get an early start but it never happens. I go from one task to another and it's three or four before I get out of the house. Then I complain about the traffic and the heat. This morning I had a hair appointment and it took all I had to make it there at nine. They probably think that I'm hitting the bottle every night the way I drag myself in there. I get up at six and still can barely manage being on time. Afterwards I stopped at the cleaners and then it was home sweet home. I asked DH to make me another cup of coffee. He's been making great coffee lately but this last one was like rocket fuel. I secretly poured it out. He gets a little carried away when I praise him too much. LOL It's a blessing that we have the option of ordering available to us. In another 20 years or so we can probably explain to our great grandkids that we used to get our goods in stores. A store is a place ...............!
So now the big question is should I stitch or take a nap!?

we try to not schedule anything before 10 a.m., if at all possible, for the same reasons.. lol
I no longer "hurry" "go quickly" or am "fast" about any thing I do.. lol

like you, I like to do my errands in the morning, so if I get out by 10 I am happy..

the Golden Years are quickly tarnished..
happy stitching!
