Bermuda, I don't want to "burst your bubble", however, it is a sweet 80 degrees in South Jersey today. The birds are singing, my flowers all look good, etc. etc. Now, having said that, I want you to know that I am currently "all purpled out" from Celtic Spring and have started Nantucket Rose (L&L design) on 32 count Silver Moon Belfast Linen. It is so sweet. I needed a color change. Also...Nantucket will be a gift from me to me!!!! The setting reminds me exactly of Cape May. I too will spend this afternoon stitching. Have a great day!!

Weather is the same here by Lk Michigan (cold and cloudy)but i have been putting off my housework ugh! and need to catch up...I will do two chores and then stitch for an hour or maybe one chore and two hours of stitching...I thought that when i retired I could do all the stitching, reading, gardening, and walking that I wanted but sadly I can't talk anyone into doing my housework..sigh...Barb

Jersey,
I can understand the "purpled out".... The L & L "Nantucket Rose" is really beautiful. I was looking at it again when I stopped at "my old hangout" cross stitch store a week of so back! Finished my "Rede Sampler" by The Sisterhood last night. Won't show it till I get if framed though....

Bthompson: I vote you do ONE CHORE and 2 hours of stitching. What projects have you been working on lately?

DH and I are living a bit more rustic here in the Erie lake waters, so things have a need for cleaning more often. Just chased some Canadian Geese (with their goslings) out of our backyard into the neighbor's yard. I definitely don't look pretty flapping my arms at them, but I don't like stepping on goose guauno when I'm walking in the yard....

The sun has finally come out here in NW Ohio but the wind is really bad and it rained this morning. Yesterday I went to Senior Luncheon at church and came home and mowed my 5 acres of yard. I love getting on my John Deere Z Trak put on my CD headphones and mow. It is so relaxing. Today I will take it easier and just do a little housework. Ugh! I will watch my Cubs VS Pirates this afternoon while doing some sewing. I know rough life being retired. LOL Have a good weekend all!

Just saw a piece on the news last night where they are using border collies to chase the geese off grounds around the monuments in D.C....seemed to work but I have seen a goose chase my dalmatian....I am working on a pattern by Rovaris....they don't name their patterns just give them numbers..the one I'm working on is R-86...I'm almost finished..in fact I think I will skip housework today and finish it instead..lol I'll spray some pine sol around and my dh will think I cleaned all day...

Syagel... I LOVE the smell of freshly mowed grass!

Bermuda, where are you on Lake Erie. I am in Bay Village, just west of Cleveland. The sun just popped out it s only 70 and they were saying we should reach high 70's. Being near the lake I don't think it will get that warm.

I'm in NoCo. We spent all weekend on evacuation mode due to imminent flooding. Again. And just as the water is receding, now we're under a sever t-storm warning and tornado watch!!!!!! I've packed and unpacked my car too many times. My nerves are shot. And I've slept in my clothes too many nights. I just can't stress out.... but I can't relax, either. I'd cry, but I'm afraid I won't be able to stop.

Momcat... I know how stressful it is to live under evacuation orders... i'm from the Pacific Northwest (currently living in n. Michigan) where forest fires threatened us all summer (evacuated 4 times) and it is such an anxiety-filled time... my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family... stay safe...Barb

Thanks.... of course my husband is making my nerves worse by asking me to check things every 5 minutes. I wish he'd go back to the garage and keep working! I'm calm... ready to dash and run. Thanks to everyone who's praying or just wishing good thoughts... p.s. I'm Barb

momcat, You are in my prayers. I have been thinking about you. I believe a week or so ago you were telling us of all these storm threats. I am praying everything will turn out fine for you, including the recovery of your nerves. Please let us know when this all passes and how you are doing. I lived in Toledo for five years. Being from the East coast, I was not used to Tornadoes. The warnings and watches used to scare us half to death. Before we moved back east, we used to all (we were transferees from somewhere!) sit on our porches and watch storm clouds forming at a distance. It is amazing how we finally got used to everything. Stay strong my friend.

P.S. Didn't care for the weather in Toledo but made some exceptional friends!!
