This One is in My Future...
I'm itching to do this one. And I believe that I will order it directly from Everything Cross Stitch. Mystic Stitch has horrible customer service -- almost non-existent. My sage advice -- order from Everything Cross Stitch when ordering Mystic Stitch patterns. If you are doing this one, please drop us a note here so I can celebrate with you and gain encouragement or just hear of your experience with this design. Thank you!

Ask Cust Svs to add a supply list on Monday. If you have problems with the pattern, you may have to contact Mystic Stitch. Hope not!

I ordered 4 patterns through mystic stitch directly off of their website and it took them three weeks to even ship them out! I just got the shipment email this morning and I ordered on April 17th!! I love so many of their patterns though but I will be looking here first in the future.

This is a bit off the subject, but I was watching Jeopardy last week and found out that Edgar Allen Poe probably died from rabies.

I have this pattern already and all the floss and like you, dying to do it. Have to finish my Mystic Stitch Baby Ghosts first. Good luck, this one will take a while but will be beautiful.

Corey, that sounds about right. LOL

This pattern would not be for me, it looks very grim. Death is a very unpleasant subject for me and I don't like being reminded in any way.

I agree that it is a very ambitious project and I hope that you will enjoy it. Where will you display it?

Texas Stitcher, I will probably give it as a gift to a friend who is able to put all the details in this work to the corresponding Poe story. Sorry that it reminds you of death. I like to think of it as a tribute to a great writer of horror and fantasy. The recipient of this work is an award-winning author herself so I'm sure it will be well-received.

Zoe, how nice of you. I am sure that your friend will greatly appreciate it.
I am an only child born to an elderly mother (it sounds ludicrous to call myself child LOL) who suffered from frequent migraines and was left to my own devices quite often. I had to be very quiet and occupied myself with reading. I stumbled upon books by Edgar Allen Poe and read several - at the age of nine! For years I had nightmares and to this day sleep with lights on in the house and an open bedroom door. I also overhead many unpleasant conversations about death, being buried alive, etc., hence my aversion to death and anything that remotely reminds me. I close my eyes when autopsies are being performed on TV shows, morgue scenes are shown and the like. You get the drift. In no way did I mean to offend you or your taste, so please accept my apologies.

This is listed under Halloween and I think is a wonderful piece. I cannot wait to start it. It does not remind me of death, etc., just a great spooky Halloween project. So excited to do this one.

Read somewhere that Edgar Alllen Poe was scared silly that he would be buried alive and so he made a story out of it...of course I can't remember the title of it....

Put this pattern on my wish list. It is a Mystic Stitch pattern which I like plus is a pretty neat subject. When I was younger read a lot of Poe works for school. Though his medical records have been lost one of the suggestions is that he died from rabies at age 40. The story you mention about being buried alive is titled The Cask Of Amontillado. Very interesting story.
