The Frogin' Life
Last week i spent ripping out stitches on Lilac Cat's right ear & head. Off pattern, bad stitches, fuzzy stitches. Three times! Was so discouraged. Then, Saturday night I lost my balance & got a mild concussion. Now my stitching is pefect. Go figure? Maybe having to relax, or maybe my head got knocked straight.

I know just what you mean! I have spent almost all of my stitching time for the last two days frogging every stitch that I had done. One little thingbon my current project nearly made me crazy...well, OK, crazier. And, worse than that, it was a little crab and we live on Crab Street.
Sometimes it ssems nothung goes right. I finally got that part dobe, did great with lettering...until I got to the ampersand (&). I got one stitch off twice and am nearly ready to find a new hobby. The very thougt if that makes DH wild, although he has no idea how much I really do have in my stash...
Hang in there! We could be working oas garbage men...no, oops, sanitation engineers.

Must be something in the atmosphere. I've been ripping a lot lately both in cross stitch and sewing projects.

PS Before you trash your stash let us know -- we can come over and go thru your trash (hmm, rhymes with stash). Why let the sanitation engineers have all the fun?

jlhewes -- hope you head is better.

We took a little jaunt this week-end. Saturday night we had dinner in a place known for good service. It was not. I complained to the manager and we got a free meal. Leaving the place I slipped (someone had thrown up in the parking lot ) I ended up on my tush. Wasn't really hurt -- just had you know what all over me -- it makes me nauseas just to write this. Went back to the hotel. Took a shower and washed my nasty clothes in the sink. Put on my nighty and got into bed. The fire alarm went off. Put on my dirty clothes from the night before and went down the stairs and out into the chilly air. Fortunately, no fire -- a major water pipe burst. It was a mess. They had to turn the water off. good thing I was able to get cleaned up in time.

Two weeks ago, I got to the end of a row and I was off by 2 stitches!! A friend spotted my mistake within 5 minutes! (I meet with several friends to stitch 2 or 3 days a week.) Just had to do a little bit of frogging.

I had to change threads on a project... my inventory told me I had 3.... but could I find any of them??? NO!!! This is where my OCD kicks in. I finally found one, and am on to the next section. I'm working on Autumn Logs by Needle Delights Originals. She changes threads a lot, and stitches, so it keeps me interested.

As ye sew, so shall ye rip!

Sounds like we have all been frogging a lot lately. I spent several hours about a week ago pulling a blended mix because it just didn't look right. The one floss color looked like a reddish tint which was not needed. I am doing the Laverne and Shirley bears as a present for my friend. The color number was right, but I went to JoAnn and got another skein of the color. Sure enough somewhere along the line I had put the wrong color on my plastic bobbin. After I fixed my "boo boo" all is now right with the world.

Seems like we are all having falls. My head is finally healed from the fall I took at the gas station. I looked like Bride of Frankenstein for about a week.

Sat down last night to stitch on "Sacred Hour"and got to another area for DMC color number 3829. Brought (what I thought) all my floss bobbin containers with me when we migrated. Think I could find DMC 3829? Oh NNOOO! Couldn't find 4 other floss colors I need either so I sent in an order for the floss and now working in areas where these colors aren't needed.
Haven't had to frog (but I'm not saying that too loudly).....
Really cold here today and overcast, suppose to go down to 38 degrees. Ran outside and covered the mandevilla with some burlap and caught my finger in the gate trying to throw the latch; nasty looking blood blister to add to my stash.....

Momcat....I just looked up Needle Delights and saw Autumn Logs. Wow!! Really beautiful. While I was snooping, I went into Double Delights and boy do I love Peach Forest!! There are so many nice color choices. Just what I need...to get hooked on something else!! LOL!! I am curious, are you doing different squares to complete a larger design like their website shows, or, do you just do smaller ones and frame them?? Many years ago, needlepoint "was my thing".

Bermuda, Be careful my friend...Sorry about your woes with missing DMC thread and the latch on the garden gate. It's going down to 38 degrees....and you came north why????!! Sounds like it's time for you to put your feet up and have another beer!!!!

Jlhewes,

First, I am so glad you weren't seriously hurt!

Second, the trouble you were having stitching may have been pointing to your physical balance problem....in other words, excessive/unusual ripping may be a symptom of a health issue! Couldn't hurt to mention to your doctor.... :)

Good fortune and be well! :)

We moved to NoCo from the Phoenix area because my husband took a job in Boulder. I've made friends, but I lost most everything in the 2013 flooding. I have nowhere near the stash I had back then, and probably never will. And why did we move here??? Because my husband wanted to get out of the 120 degree summers! At least I never worried about floods there!

On most needlepoint pieces, I stitch the whole thing, as is with some minor alterations. On Rainforest Crunch and Rainforest Revisited, I'm considering making some smaller items as ornaments in more holiday colours.

p.s. Another 1-1/2" of rain today.... still afraid we'll have to evacuate...again. Make it go away!!!
