Finished! Lovely Design.
I had not cross stitched in 20+ years. I was apprehensive, but the pattern was easy to follow. I worked from the middle left to right and then bottom left to right. I did make some changes. I omitted the date/signature blocks at the top right of the design. As I worked toward the bottom of the design, I also added a single silver thread to the blue stream of water. It added some sparkle. I also used a DMC 94 green variegated strand on the tree valley. I also backstitched some of the cream colored designs to allow them to stand out from the Aida fabric I used. I made some mistakes, but the overall effect was lovely.

Very nice. Glad to hear you made some changes to suit yourself. And only you know the mistakes; we all make them; and they are soon forgotten.

Great work! I enjoy Plum Street, Bent Creek and Silver Creek because they all specialize in samplers, but their designs have a more modern touch and they are not complex. That way, I get to stitch something that is pretty and not feel like I will be at it for monthS!

I would like to also use a single silver thread to the blue stream of water. Did you use one silver and one blue thread? I am having difficulty getting even one silver thread through the needle. Even just one strand separates. Is there a trick to using this type of thread? I have the number (E168) that the pattern calls for. Thanks!

WOW! You would never know you took a 20 year break from it. Beautiful! It's always fun to make personal adjustments to patterns!
