something all together different
Hi friends, I was out shopping today and while looking at the women's magazine section I noticed there aren't any focused on women my age (70). They are all focused on young women who are built like sticks and how to lose even more weight. Also the recipes use twigs and roots as their main ingredients. YUk!!! I am looking for a mature woman's magazine that has interesting articles for someone my age. Please don't suggest AARP. Even the old stand bys - Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day and Ladies Home Journal have fallen under the very young women umbrella. Do any of you have any suggestions on a nice magazine I can curl up with and enjoy? thanks a million for listening to me.

I think that we need to create our own magazine. Lots of on-line sites but I can't curl up on the couch with a computer

I really liked Reminisce Magazine. Use to read my MIL's subscription. I had it for a few years. May subscribe again now that I am retired and have time. It's "retro".

Nancy G, you can curl up nicely with a tablet. 10" easier to read. Android easier than Windows.

I like Smithsonian, Discovery, American History, BBC History, Ellery Queen Mystery Mag.....lovely pictures, intelligent, well-researched articles, and fun....hardly a "stick" in sight. :)

They're all focussing onthe Millenials. Even those with jobs aren't interested in buying consumer goods. The rest live with their parents ,become foodies and hang around exotic bistros and bars.

They're out and don't read --- we're in and do read. Go. FIGURE!

They are focusing on where the marketing geniuses are telling them to focus....we are not of the target age group.

Thank you ladies - guess I am just not meant to find a really comfy magazine to read. I do like Country Woman but can't find it in town so will go online and order a subscription. I tried "All You" magazine last night and was finished in 5 minutes and didn't enjoy anything there. Have a great w/end and I will continue to pray for the people living in the Midwest. What a horrible year they are having.

I read Woman's World cover to cover. They have many different articles and I always find a good tip or recipe. I am 65 and also like First.
