dsevern2,

Just curious. What makes them "terrible"? Do they not come out right like the picture, or are they hard to follow patterns? I have ordered a couple of their patterns that I haven't worked yet, and now after reading your post, I'm hesitant to start one!

I just looked at a Mystic Stitch free pattern. It looked very busy. I didn't like the look. They use letters instead of symbols. Maybe that is your problem. If you enlarge the pattern it might work better for you. It will take a lot of patience to finish the pattern but enlarging it should make it much more clear.

I make photo copies and enlarge the pattern so I can see it. The fractal I'm prepping for IS from Mystic Stitch and I will enlarge 200%, and do each page in quarters or thirds.

Does that help?

Would like to know what you think is terrible about the Mystic Stitch pattern also. I have several of them. They are one of my favorite pattern companies. When I get the pattern I make two copies of them. One I tape and put on my design wall and the other I use to mark on while I am stitching. I have never had any trouble reading them. Like someone else did I have enlarged them on my printer also a couple of times.

One of my current projects is a 15 page Mystic Stitch pattern of John Wayne all done in creams, grays, and blacks. If you start with a smaller Mystic Stitch pattern perhaps you will grow to like them also. Enjoy your stitching.

I have about 40 Mystic Stitch patterns and thoroughly love stitching them. I do not know what problem you are having with them. Maybe you should purchase one pattern and give it a shot. I am currently doing Baby Ghosts which is on 25 pages and am not having any issues with it.

Caray214, that is very ambitious of you. I just went and looked at Baby Ghosts and it is way too adorable. I have been stitching for about 25 years and think that something that large and detailed may intimidate me. Good luck to you! I love the look of Mystic Stitch patterns but don't know if I would actually finish one.

I am just finishing my 1st mystic stitch pattern and I have not had any trouble. After doing many patterns with 1/2 and 1/4 stitches, I am really enjoying all full cross stitches and no back stitching. I will order more fron this company.

Tlmcdaniel, I thought the same thing about the Mystic Stitch patterns, but I did Laughing Snowmen and it only took me three months to complete. And yes, Baby Ghosts is way adorable so I had to do it. I am three months in today actually and and more then half done. They can be intimidating, but once you get going it is like any other project. I do nothing but Mystic Stitch now, absolutely love them. You should give one a try.
