backorders
I ordered this pattern in hopes of completing a set. I had also ordered some thread and material. Those arrived, but the invoice said that the pattern was backordered and would be sent ASAP. When I didn't receive it after about a month and a half, I called CrossStitch Unlimited and discovered that if an item is still backordered after a month, they cancel the order and credit your card. I was not notified because they didn't have my e-mail address, but it would have been nice if they had then sent me a letter to know that they had done that. I have checked and it is still backordered.

I am wondering if this pattern may be discontinued. I went to several other sights that carry Imaginating patterns and they do not even list this pattern in their inventory. I would contact Imaginating and ask if it has been discontinued.

It was inconsiderate and poor customers service of them to send the supplies knowing that the pattern is on backorder. You obviously wouldn't be ordering those particular items if the pattern is not available.

This site says that the pattern is unavailable and your entire order will be shipped all together when it does become available.

I was going to suggest that you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you ordered form Cross Stitch Unlimited in New Jersey, they have gone out of business. Maybe because of poor customer service.

Did you order using a credit card? If so, I would contact my credit card company and see if they can get an adjustment for you. Same thing if you used PayPal.

Sorry that happened to you. Welcome to our chat group.

I just contacted Imaginating and found out that they have discontinued this pattern. Thanks for the suggestion....at least I now have an answer.

I anybody, by any chance, has stitched this sampler and still has the pattern, I would be willing to pay for it if they would part with it.

I am very angry for you. No excuse for that first company not following through on their end. There has to be a shop someplace that has that pattern. I will help you.

KRISTI -- when a company discontinues a pattern are all of the patterns sold to shops recalled or left on the retailers shelves until sold?

Hello Ladies,

This order was placed with Everything Cross Stitch and I apologize for the troubles with your order. When a backordered item is cancelled after 30 days an email is automatically sent when the backordered item is canceled. I do appreciate your suggestion for a letter to be sent if an email address is not provided by the customer and we will look into this further for future customers who do not provide an email address.

Ruth - please contact our customer service department via email available on the website or via phone at 1-800-800-8517 concerning the fabric and one thread your ordered and we will take care of you.

Nancye G. - Normally discontinued items are left on the shelves and are not recalled by the manufacturer.

Thanks!

Jennifer

Jennifer - I was under the impression that the poster had purchased the pattern from a company called Cross Stitch Unlimited. Isn't that what she wrote? My answer would have been very different if she said she had purchased from ECS. I believe in your excellent customer service. Surprised that she had somehow fallen between the cracks.

My apologies to the company that has gone out of business. Still recommend ECS. Just needs to be a better way to track patterns that have gone back order or are discontinued.

Regards to all

I'm sorry that I typed in the wrong name. I did order from Everything CrossStitch. I typed in the one chat that I called CrossStitch Unlimited, but that was an error....I actually did call ECS.
