I love this but before I order it can anyone tell me if this requires fraction stitches? Also, is this project using special floss? What kind of fabric did you use? Thanks

Hello,

I am not sure about the pattern including fractional stitches? But the floss this pattern uses is DMC and Crescent Colours. The fabric that is recommended for this design is 28ct. Country French Cafe' Mocha Linen. I hope this information helps :) Thank you!

Thank you Kristi. Would this be a case where you have to stitch over 2? I haven't done that yet but would like to try so I can start growing my skills and making different kinds of pictures.

Hello,

Yes, you would stitch over 2 on the 28ct. fabric :)

There are generally no fractional stitches in the Country Cottage designs.

lavinia -- you don't HAVE to do 28 over two. You could also do 14ct over one. I have been stitching for over 30 years - I have never attempted 28 ct nor do I intend to do so.

Thanks for the tip.

If you use 14 count Aida, will that change the dimensions? I'm new to cross stitch and would like to stick with the aida cloth and want to make sure I buy a big enough piece of cloth.

Prarie,
If you stitch OVER ONE square on 14-count, the finished pattern size will come out to the same size if you stitched OVER TWO square on 28-count. Either way, you should make sure you add an extra 2 inches of fabric on EACH side of the fabric you order so you have enough fabric for mounting and framing your completed project. I add 3 inches on each side, but that's my choice....
