q snaps
someone mentioned that they don't use the q snaps anymore because they had trouble taking the snaps off (hubby had to do it). i straighten out the fabric and just slide them off. easy peasy, lemon squeezy.:)

Yes, I just slide mine off too, up or down. Very easy. But it did take me a while to figure that out after many frustrating attempts to try to pull/pry them directly off. Duh to me ;-)

I've seen people say that Q-snaps will tear or distort the fabric, and I just wanted to say that I've used them for 20 years and have never had that problem. I like my fabric to be very taut.

I have posted before that I use Q Snaps whenever possible. You can pull the fabric "taught" and not mark the fabric. I did encounter one project on 28 count linen in which I had difficulty because the fabric seemed "slippery". I had difficulty getting the fabric taught on the frame. I even hand washed it and tried again....to no avail. So...I reverted back to a good circular frame and removed it whenever I was not working on my project. I can only guess that some of these fabrics have a "polyester like" component which may make them slippery. Also...I did note that since the snaps of the frame had a tendency to move "inward" as I was working...if I did not adjust them and make sure they were completely "upright" on the frame...I could see that I would stress the fabric when removing it. Very unusual circumstance because I have used Q Snaps for ages!!

I slide the Q Snaps off like that other stitchers rather than try to pry them off....

my problem is I do not have the strength in my hands to slide q snap off..
arthritis in my thump joints, on both hands..
at least w/ hoops I still can unscrew hoop..
