I was thinking of you earlier this morning with all the tourists now descending on you. I remember when my daughter lived in Cape May about 12 years ago and she was working for the Cape May school district. One day she walked across the street to get a salad at the big grocery store for her lunch and when she got in line she looked ahead of her and there were about 30 customers and one cashier. Knowing that it would be awhile till she got to the cashier and the time on her lunch break was ticking away she started to eat her salad while still in line. When she finally got to the cashier she handed her the money for the salad and asked her to throw away the empty container. Keep on smiling when you are standing in line "forever" and when a 10 minute drive takes over an hour. Have a great 4th of July. We are going to Lockport, Ny to our daughters home and have a celebration since the 4th is my husband's birthday. Take care and have a great w/end.
Cheryl

Happy 4th of July to all my stitcher friends and may you get where you want to go safely.

Cheryl, It is so nice to communicate with someone who has a realistic vision of what goes on in south Jersey in the summer. We theatrically live 45 minutes from the shore. It can EASILY take an hour and a half to get from to the here to the shore during the tourist season. We have a very unique approach to this. We love the shore so much.....why shouldn't the folks from Pennsylvania!! Thank goodness my husband is a life long resident of S.J. and knows all of the "short cuts" (aka back roads)!!! We save time travelling to Cape May because my husband was a Computer Analyst who worked for Prudential Insurance near the shore!! I hope you (and all stitchers) have a wonderful 4th. Have a great trip to Lockport! Peace be with you!

P.S. We had an artist here last week who's husband was here on business. She had never been to Cape May. I took her Tuesday morning....perfect timing.....very little traffic.....temperatures around 84 degrees. She took endless pictures at Cape May Point....the beach.....many of the Hydrangea gardens where plants were about 4' tall....also in town....many of the Victorian Houses. She can enlarge her photos and actually paint acrylics/oils from them. Of course.....no surprise.....I took her to "Stitch by Stitch" where I bought floss, fabric and beads for Marilyn Imblum's "Fairy Grandmother". She was just absolutely amazed that this store carries everything. I told the clerk that I am in this chat room and that many people I communicate with do not have local stitch shops any longer. She said "Tell me about it. I hear this every single day from people who are here on vacation." She did tell me they have a website. If any of you need anything....just call them...they will ship it USPS First Class Mail.
