I just today found an item named Thread Heaven" that says it will solve your tangle problems. Don't know much about it, but check it out on their web site www.threadheaven.com. Hope it works for you.

I have used it. It does help straighten the floss. especially floss that has been wound around bobbins for years. It works like bees wax. You pull the thread across it; wipe off excess residue and stitch. I don't think that it helps me stitch faster.

buy Thread Heaven @ Jo Ann's.. also Dritz makes a product works same as T.H. Jo Ann was out of T.H & clerk showed me the other product.. used by quilters.. the clerks @ Michaels' had no idea what I was looking for.. good luck
